Decide which “near” matters
- Near home is best for young children and weekend classes.
- Near school can work for after-school classes if pickup is easy.
- Near the office or on the way home is usually best for adults taking evening classes.
Do you have a pool already?
If you live in a condo with a pool, a condo class may be the nearest option of all. Otherwise, look at the public swimming complex closest to your chosen “near”.
Travel time is a real factor
A 10-minute trip is easy to repeat every week. A 40-minute trip each way after work usually is not. Choose the closest suitable pool, even if another pool has slightly nicer facilities.
Then match the time
A nearby pool only helps if there is a slot you can attend. Check how schedules work. Availability varies by location, instructor and learner level.
What to send when you enquire
- Your area or the pool you prefer, such as a condo name or nearby MRT station.
- Learner's age and current swimming level.
- Preferred days and time band.
- Private, small group or group.
